Santa comes to Meadowbrook Farm / Clarkson Estates: Even with the 20 degree temp, and the late arriving Santa, there was a great turnout estimated at 45 people when Santa did arrive at Parasol park. Every child got his turn to tell Santa what they wished for during the holiday season.

Santa will be riding into Meadowbrook Farm / Clarkson Estates with an escort of fire trucks on Tuesday evening December 16th between 6:30pm and 7:30pm. Listen for the sirens, and watch for the lights as Santa arrives. The kids will be able to visit Santa. He will make two stops: Parasol Park (Parasol and Country Ridge) and on Fairway Bend at the common ground between the intersections of Meadowbrook Way . Bring all the kids out to see Santa.

The next meeting is Thursday, 11/20/2008. It will be held at the Kehrs Mill Elementary School library starting at 7:30 pm. Please plan to attend.

The city of Chesterfield has extended the exclusive trash pickup contract to Allied Waste, effective August 2009. There are 3% price increases each year for trash and recycle pickup. New with this new contract, will be a 10% senior citizen discount (65 & older). Further, and at no cost to residents, Allied Waste will provide 65 gallon trash carts to all residents by April 2009. The cost for pickup of yard waste, a separate service, will be frozen until 7/31/2011. Yard waste is now picked up on Wednesdays, and trash & recycle is on Thursdays.

Following analysis and forecast of expenses, the Board of Trustees recommended the annual assessment be increased to $125.00 per year. This was approved by a vote at the Annual Meeting, and this amount will be reflected in the annual assessment which will be mailed to all homeowners at the end of November.

Meeting reminder. There will be a Neighborhood Watch meeting, just for our subdivision, on Wednesday November 5 at 7:00 pm. It will be held in the Chesterfield City Hall (690 Chesterfield Parkway W.) in Room 102. Officer Kim Huffman will be presenting what would be required to bring Meadowbrook Farm / Clarkson Estates into the Neighborhood Watch program. Please plan on attending.

As mentioned in the October newsletter, AmerenUE is working in and around our subdivision. This includes trimming trees around overhead lines - but it also includes some underground wiring replacement. If your property will be impacted, you will receive a letter from UE detailing project start date, etc. Vehicles involved will display the PowerOn logo (UE and contractor vehicles). Allied Waste has changed the Yard Waste pickup day to Wednesday effective Wednesday Oct 1. Their letter was dated 9/15. Regular Recycle and Trash days remain the same on Thursday.

Our Monarch Fire Protection District maintains a readiness on many fronts. Captain Bill Long is shown testing the operation of a Meadowbrook Farm / Clarkson Estates fire hydrant, as Engineer Matt Stuck waits in the truck.

Chesterfield has a program to help homeowners replace any tree that has been removed from between the curb and sidewalk. The homeowners share will be $100. See the Residential Street Tree Program Application located on the City of Chesterifld web site.

In mid August the depressions located in two of the common grounds were filled with dirt, planted with seed and covered with hay. The neighbors are kindly watering to help the grass grow.

In July, we had a water main break at the intersection of Country Ridge and Golden Rain / Kempwood. When Missouri American Water repaired the break, they temporarily repaired the intersection. Subsequently they have made permanent repairs - the barriers should come down by next week (8/10).

All blacktop common ground paths were sealed in early July. This assures that all residents have easy access to the common ground areas.

Our neighborhood residents celebrate two block parties to celebrage July 4.

One located in Woodland Field Court where the cul-de-sac was closed to host a BBQ and parade for the kids; click here for pictures. It was organized by Carrie Earnhart and friends.

The other was in the park at Parasol and Country Ridge. It included a childern's parade that started at Parasol and Country Ridge travelling east on Parasol, left on Silverwood, left on Country Ridge back to the start; click here for pictures. It was organized by Betsey Simmons and her friends.

On July 24 the neighborhood web site address has been reduced to 5 characters from 31! Much easier to type and remember. The new address is http://mf-ce.com. We are keeping the original longer address too, so both can be used to access the web site.
