Subject: crime notification

This email is in reference to a crime notification and crime prevention measure for the residents of the Meadowbrook Farm subdivision.

Between Sunday 04/10/2011 and Monday 04/11/2011 between 1000PM and 730 AM, a burglary was reported in the 2000 block of Meadowbrook Way. Entry was gained through a rear basement door where computers, hard drives, a radar detector and purse were taken. The purse was later discovered outside the residence. This occurred while the residents were at home.

Similar incidents have been reported in the Laurenwood, Round Hill, and Clarkson Woods South subdivisions on 04/06/2011 and over the weekend of 04/08/2011 through 04/11/2011. There was also a reported theft from an automobile in the Clarkson Woods South subdivision where a garage door opener was taken.

Please notify the residents in your subdivision about the burglaries and theft from an automobile and encourage them to take crime prevention measures such as locking all doors and windows, leaving lights on both inside and outside the residence, particularly around points of entry, closing garage doors, not leaving any valuable items inside vehicles, and removing garage door openers in vehicles parked outside.

Be assured that these crimes are being investigated and actively pursued. Extra patrol has been set up in both Meadowbrook Farm and all the affected subdivisions.

Please have your residents report ANY unusual or suspicious persons, activities, or vehicles to the police department.
